Catholic Church supports - After So Many Deaths, Too Many Births in Rwanda

Rwanda moves to limit family size - Rwanda is planning to limit couples to no more than three children because of rising poverty in Africa's most densely populated country.
BBC News Service

The country has one of the world's highest birth rates. Some are keen to have children to replace the family members lost during the 1994 genocide.
The government is holding discussions with church leaders - hoping to win their support for population control.

Catholic church leaders are not expected to oppose the plan, the Times reports. According to the Times, the church has avoided politics because some priests, nuns and lay workers took part in the 1994 genocide, which weakened the church's "moral authority." Officials designing the population control program say they would like their plan to become a model for other African countries.

They also say they have begun consulting specialists from the U.S. and other countries to fund the project in its entirety. The U.S. government is currently helping to finance the program, the Times reports (Kinzer, New York Times, 2/11).

how do they come to such a conclusion and its so strange how america always comes to the rescue with african problems they seem to have a solution for everthing.
how about helping the people to create a better life so they can be aible to take care of their children cos i dont think there is such a thing as too many children rather then cutting them off, what are they going to do if one decides to have more then 3 children knowing the roman church maybe they going to kill the child or seperate it from its parents.Africa does not need america help because what they provide africa is never for the best for Africans.America is always conspiring aginst Africa
