Special Holy Day Series - The Biblical High Holy Days

The Appointed Seasons of Yah
Part 2
by Yehuda H. Cohane
KNN-Dimona

The High Holy Days of Yah are arranged in a very particular symmetry and sequence beginning with the observance of Yom Kippur—The Day of Atonement that activates the new spiritual season, which corresponds with the fall or autumn of the year.

“And Yah spoke unto Moses, saying: Speak unto the Children of Israel, saying, in the seventh month in the first day of the month, shall you have a Sabbath, a Memorial of Blowing of the Trumpets, an Holy convocation. You shall do no servile work therein; but you shall offer an offering made by fire unto Yah.”
Leviticus 23:23-25

Shabbatone Zechrone Thruah, which means the Sabbath memorial of a creative spirit, blast or alarm. It is a time to enter into serious retrospection and introspection considering your relationship with Yah, your people and the creation. It is a time to prepare for the Day of Atonement, which follows ten days later. This sound “thru-ah” is relating to the creative regenerative Spirit/Word of Yah. Many during this time celibrate what is called Rosh Hashanah, the new year, instead of the Memorial Blowing of the Trumpets. The beginning of the year, according to the ancient Hebraic calendar cycle, is in the season of Aviv, which corresponds with the spring of the year, as indicated in Leviticus 23 and Exodus 12:1-4.

The Children of Israel were commanded to offer an offering made by fire. Every son and daughter of Yah must make acceptable supplication unto Him. Words of Truth from the mouth, in unison with that which is in the heart, are the only words acceptable to Yah.

That is, when the servant of Yah that is chosen has established an ensign, (a model environment, the Kingdom of Yah on the mountain or the high place, Jerusalem), hear His instructions, hear His spoken words when he blows his trumpet, and when he speaks the Word of Yah.

“For out of Zion shall go forth the law and the Word of Yah from Jerusalem.”

Isaiah 2:3

"Jerusalem is to be an ensign, a spiritual center for the heralding of the Gospel, the Word of Yah. It is to be the center where the trumpet comes into the hearing of all the inhabitants of the earth. This sound will change the thoughts of the peoples and have them turn toward Yah with all of their heart, soul and might. They will be obedient to His laws and instructions so that they may live."

Quote from : The Spiritual Signifigance of the Sabbath and Holydays by the Prophetic Priesthood at Jerusalem.

“And Yah spoke unto Moses saying: Also on the tenth day of this seventh month there shall be a day of atonement: it shall be an Holy Convocation unto you; and you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire unto Yah.

It shall be unto you a Sabbath of rest, and you shall afflict your souls; in the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening shall you celebrate your Sabbath.”

Leviticus 23:26,32

Nuclear Bombs Mistakenly Fly Over U.S.

By PAULINE JELINEK
Associated Press

WASHINGTON (Sept. 5) -- A B-52 bomber was mistakenly armed with six nuclear warheads and flown for more than three hours across several states last week, prompting an Air Force investigation and the firing of one commander, Pentagon officials said Wednesday.

The mistake was so serious that President Bush and Defense Secretary Robert Gates were quickly informed and Gates has asked for daily briefings on the Air Force inquiry, said Defense Department press secretary Geoff Morrell.

Nonviolence Guru Returns To Israel

Eighteen months ago distinguished scholar-in residence at the University of Rhode Island Dr. Bernard LaFayette, Jr. on a visit to Israel forecasted that peace could possibly come to the region within five years. Few people believed him. This week the nonviolence disciple of Dr. Martin L. King, Jr. is back and working to make his vision a reality. He will be facilitating a series of seminars, workshops and lectures highlighting the use of Dr. King’s principles and strategies as a pathway to peace in this region.

Dr. LaFayette’s series of seminars and workshops will be held in Bethlehem for a collective of Palestinian youth, as well as a consortium of Israeli and Palestinians in the Negev town of Dimona at the Hebrew Israelite Village of Peace. Dr. Lafayette’s activities in Israel are co-sponsored by the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. /Ben Ammi Institute for a New Humanity (INH) which is a cooperative venture between Dr. King’s long time civil rights organization Southern Christian Leadership Conference (SCLC), the African Hebrew Israelites of Jerusalem and BSI, Int’l. Dr. Lafayette is also a member of SCLC’s Executive board and its international Ambassador.

This lecture series is entitled Kingian Nonviolence-Preparing for the Future. “We are preparing for a new paradigm in this region of peace and reconciliation”. Dr. LaFayette stated when asked what is the purpose of his visit, “The only way one can receive a future filed with new and different options is to prepare for that future. We are planting the seeds for a new Middle-East because a new paradigm for the Middle-East means a new paradigm for the world.”

The Institute for a New Humanity is preparing to launch an initiative in Israeli and Palestinian schools to address the internal conflict on both sides of the equation. Dr. LaFayette stated that, “our desire is to train trainers and provide new skills to help create a new people-to-people ecology and an environment for peace and reconciliation at a grassroots level”.

Dr. LaFayette and members of the INH were involved in the First Palestinian Conference on Nonviolence held in Bethlehem in December of 2005. Since then Dr. LaFayette has returned to Israel several times and trained Palestinian youth groups and Israelis in Ramala, Bethlehem, Jerusalem and Dimona respectively. He has also lectured in Tel Aviv, as well as in Jerusalem at the Van Leer Institute. Dr. LaFayette will be accompanied this time by Captain Charles Alphin Sr., senior trainer in nonviolence and former educational trainer at the King Center in Atlanta, Ga.

On September 5, 2007 there will be a graduation for students of Kingian Nonviolence in Bethlehem. On September 6, 2007, an open conference, in Dimona in which Dr. LaFayette will do a comprehensive one-day workshop and lecture on holistic and Kingian Nonviolence, considered the pathway to Peace in preparation for the “Beloved Community” as espoused by Dr. King.
