Earthquake Shakes Up Northeast Ohio

CLEVELAND - A small earthquake shook up parts of northeast Ohio Monday evening, officials confirmed. Viewers in southeast Cuyahoga County and northeast Summit County reported that they felt the minor quake at 7:18 p.m.

According to the US Geologic Survey in Colorado, the earthquake measured 3-point-6 on the Richter Scale and was centered at latitude 41.22/longitude 81.21 or right at the intersection of Gray and Peck Roads in rural Portage County. This location puts the quake's epicenter about 5 miles north of the City of Ravenna between the Portage County Airport and the Ravenna Arsenal.

Residents report feeling the tremor in the communities of Macedonia, Solon, Streetsboro, Aurora, Twinsburg, Bath, Brecksville, Richfield, Kent, Broadview Heights and Garfield. No damage was reported with the exception of a few rattled dishes.
