The History Of Gasoline
Gasoline is a volatile, flammable liquid obtained from the refinement of petroleum, or crude oil. It was originally discarded as a byproduct of kerosene production, but its ability to vaporize at low temperatures made it a useful fuel for many machines. The first oil well in the United States was struck by Edwin L. Drake near Titusville, Pennsylvania, in 1859 at a depth of almost 70 feet (21 m). With the development of the four-stroke internal combustion engine by Nikolaus Otto in 1876, gasoline became essential to the automotive industry. Today, almost all gasoline is used to fuel automobiles, with a very small percentage used to power agricultural equipment and aircraft. Petroleum, a fossil fuel, supplies more energy to the world today than any other source. The United States is the world's leading consumer of petroleum; in 1994, Americans used 7,587,000 barrels of oil per day. Petroleum is formed from the remains of plants and animals that have been held under tremendous pressure for millions of years. Ordinarily, this organic matter would decompose completely with the help of scavengers and aerobic bacteria, but petroleum is created in an anaerobic environment, without the presence of oxygen. Over half of the world's known crude oil is concentrated in the Persian Gulf basin. Other major areas include the coasts of Alaska and the Gulf of Mexico.Petroleum products, including gasoline, are primarily a mixture of hydrocarbons (molecules containing hydrogen and carbon molecules) with small amounts of other substances. Crude oil is comprised of different lengths of hydrocarbon chains, with some short chains and some very long chains. Depending on how much the oil is broken down, or refined, it may become any number of products. On average, 44.4% of petroleum becomes gasoline. There really are no waste products from petroleum. The lighter chemicals are natural gas, liquified petroleum gas (LPG), jet fuel, and kerosene. The heavier products are used for the manufacture of lubricants, plastics, and asphalt. In addition, many less valuable products can be chemically converted into more saleable compounds.
The Importance of Minerals in Your Diet
“Minerals are the most important aspect of a man’s diet. There are approximately 102 minerals in the earth and the same in the body of man. Their consumption in their “whole” form (whether cooked or raw) holds the key to the health and well-being of the Adamic soul.”
What are these minerals? Minerals. Minerals have a broad range of functions. As many as 20 minerals play significant roles in the body. “Microminerals,” (called trace minerals) or minerals that the body only needs traces of, can fight off serious illness. These include copper, iodine, chromium, iron, fluorine, tin, zinc, nickel, vanadium, manganese, silicon, molybdenum, and selenium. “Macrominerals,” or minerals that the body needs large amounts of include magnesium, sodium, potassium, chlorine, phosphorus, calcium, and sulfur. Zinc is responsible for helping metabolize proteins and keeping enzymes functioning. Copper is needed by enzymes for metabolizing. Iodine assists the thyroid gland in working properly. Calcium and phosphorus build bones and teeth. Iron delivers oxygen to the body’s cells. Potassium helps muscle contraction, maintains the fluid balance of cells, helps transmit messages through the body’s nerves, and keeps the kidneys and heart working correctly. I have only listed a few. Remember there are 102 minerals in man and in the soil. The scientific world has not even discovered all the minerals that will be available to you and they all will be found in the food that we eat. Here are a few examples: Calcium - leafy green vegetables, such as broccoli, Potassium - bananas, broccoli, tomatoes, Iron and Zinc - legumes, such as beans, peas, lentils, and peanuts. I will close with the words of our Divine Minister of Agriculture Sar Yadiel:
“A Yah soil-dynamic will produce plants grown in liberated soil of a superior nutritional value. They will contain Truth-complex vitamins and minerals of therefore unknown biological value and benefits. It is the qualitative-quantitative Yah-yield of Adamah/soil, combined with the Yah-righteous character, which will stimulate the Adamic-body to function on a higher level of metabolic-regenerative activity. Biologically speaking, we enter into the cycles of Divine health and longevity or simply stated, the cycles of everlasting life.”

Obesity and Diabetes: How They Affect Children
BY MATTHEW KENT, SOUTHERN HEALTH CONTRIBUTORAs juvenile obesity rates in the United States continue to escalate, parents need to be aware that their children are at risk of developing Type 2 diabetes. Normally observed in individuals over the age of 45, Type 2 diabetes is now more commonly seen in young people.Approximately 177,000 youngsters under the age of 20 have diabetes, according to the National Diabetes Education Program. Diabetes continues to be on the rise and is clearly an ongoing problem. More Info Click Here: The Southern Health Magazine

Is The American Dream Still Possible
By David Wallechinsky Published: April 23, 2006 -Cleveland Plain Dealer NewspaperThe traditional American Dream is based on the belief that hardworking citizens can better their lives, pay their monthly bills without worry, give their children a start to an even better life and still save enough to live comfortably after they retire. But many average Americans are struggling—squeezed by rising costs, declining wages, credit-card debt and diminished benefits, with little left over to save for retirement. (See statistics below.)

In a busy ISA softball week, the Dawgs upset the Galil Twisters 8-5, Shimshon Hi-Tech defeated Otzma Eilat 15-9, Dimona Mean Judeans took two, 16-1 over Eilat and 9-5 over Zion Tours, and Penticon bested the Tigers 8-2. In a women's game, the Beit Shemesh Fireballs fended off the Dimona Lady Judeans 15-13 who then beat ISP Tel Aviv 13-12. Dimona ran over Eilat 16-1 behind 12 strikeouts from Elyaheed Ben Israel who allowed only a bunt single to Yoni Weiss while walking six. Akazia Ben Israel tripled and drove in four runs, Yehuda Ben Israel had three hits and two RBI's and Elyaheed helped out with a triple of his own. Dimona also downed Zion Tours 9-5. Yaron Ben Israel stymied a powerful ZT offense, while the Mean Judean's loaded the bases twice on bunts. Horaliel Ben Israel knocked in three runs and Oved Ben Israel two as Dimona scored seven unearned runs on eight ZT errors.
Carmiah, Dimona's new pitcher threw respectably and strengthened towards the end, as her teammates fought back from a 15-5 deficit, but Yaakov shut the door. A walk-off game-ending single allowed Dimona to save face, 13-12 over ISP Tel Aviv.

I'm Going Bananas!!!
After Reading THIS, you'll NEVER look at a banana in the same way again!Bananas Containing three natural sugars - sucrose, fructose and glucose combined with fiber, a banana gives an instant, sustained and substantial boost of energy. Research has proven that just two bananas provide enough energy for a strenuous 90-minute workout. No wonder the banana is the number one fruit with the world's leading athletes. But energy isn't the only way a banana can help us keep fit. It can also help overcome or prevent a substantial number of illnesses and conditions, making it a must to add to our daily diet. Depression: According to a recent survey undertaken by MIND amongst people suffering from depression, many felt much better after eating a banana. This is because bananas contain tryptophan, a type of protein that the body converts into serotonin, known to make you relax, improve your mood and generally make you feel happier. PMS: Forget the pills -- eat a banana. The vitamin B6 it contains regulates blood glucose levels, which can affect your mood. Anemia: High in iron, bananas can stimulate the production of hemoglobin in the blood and so helps in cases of anemia. Blood Pressure: This unique tropical fruit is extremely high in potassium yet low in salt, making it the perfect way to beat blood pressure. So much so, the US Food and Drug Administration has just allowed the banana industry to make official claims for the fruit's ability to reduce the risk of blood pressure and stroke. Brain Power: 200 students at a Twickenham (Middlesex) school were helped through their exams this year by eating bananas at breakfast, break, and lunch in a bid to boost their brain power. Research has shown that the potassium-packed fruit can assist learning by making pupils more alert. Constipation: High in fiber, including bananas in the diet can help restore normal bowel action, helping to overcome the problem without resorting to laxatives. Hangovers: One of the quickest ways of curing a hangover is to make a banana milkshake, sweetened with honey. The banana calms the stomach and, with the help of the honey, builds up depleted blood sugar levels, while the milk soothes and re-hydrates your system. Heartburn: Bananas have a natural antacid effect in the body, so if you suffer from heartburn, try eating a banana for soothing relief. Morning Sickness: Snacking on bananas between meals helps to keep blood sugar levels up and avoid morning sickness. Mosquito bites: Before reaching for the insect bite cream, try rubbing the affected area with the inside of a banana skin. Many people find it amazingly successful at reducing swelling and irritation. Nerves: Bananas are high in B vitamins that help calm the nervous system. Overweight and at work? Studies at the Institute of Psychology in Austria found pressure at work leads to gorging on comfort food like chocolate and chips. Looking at 5,000 hospital patients, researchers found the most obese were more likely to be in high-pressure jobs. The report concluded that, to avoid panic-induced food cravings, we need to control our blood sugar levels by snacking on high carbohydrate foods every two hours to keep levels steady. Ulcers: The banana is used as the dietary food against intestinal disorders because of its soft texture and smoothness. It is the only raw fruit that can be eaten without distress in over-chronicler cases. It also neutralizes over-acidity and reduces irritation by coating the lining of the stomach. Temperature control: Many other cultures see bananas as a "cooling" fruit that can lower both the physical and emotional temperature of expectant mothers. In Thailand, for example, pregnant women eat bananas to ensure their baby is born with a cool temperature. Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD): Bananas can help SAD sufferers because they contain the natural mood enhancer tryptophan. Smoking: Bananas can also help people trying to give up smoking. The B6, B12 they contain, as well as the potassium and magnesium found in them, help the body recover from the effects of nicotine withdrawal. Stress: Potassium is a vital mineral, which helps normalize the heartbeat, sends oxygen to the brain and regulates your body's water balance. When we are stressed, our metabolic rate rises, thereby reducing our potassium levels. These can be rebalanced with the help of a high-potassium banana snack. Strokes: According to research in "The New England Journal of Medicine," eating bananas as part of a regular diet can cut the risk of death by strokes by as much as 40%! So, a banana really is a natural remedy for many ills. When you compare it to an apple, it has four times the protein, twice the carbohydrates, three times the phosphorus, five times the vitamin A and iron, and twice the other vitamins and minerals. It is also rich in potassium and is one of the best value foods around. So maybe its time to change that well-known phrase so that we say, "A banana a day keeps the doctor away!"

Stolen Body Parts Scandal
Date Published: Sunday, April 23rd, 2006 By Steven DiJoseph
The ghoulish tale of stolen body parts, missing persons, diseased human tissue grafts, and the possibility that thousands of innocent patients are now at risk of developing everything from HIV/AIDS and syphilis to hepatitis B and C has become a scandal of nationwide proportions that has health officials in several states as well as the FDA and CDC extremely concerned.
Reports are now appearing that almost 100 more patients (this time in the Atlanta area) have been informed that human tissue grafts they received may have been from diseased body parts that were stolen from corpses in funeral homes and never properly screened for a wide range of serious and even life-threatening infectious diseases.

Got Ginger? Ginger Fights Cancer
By Dr. BaruchGinger can kill ovarian cancer cells while the compound that makespeppers hot can shrink pancreatic tumors, researchers told aconference. Their studies add to a growing body of evidence that atleast some popular spices might slow or prevent the growth of cancer.Dr. Rebecca Liu, an assistant professor of obstetrics and gynecology atthe University of Michigan Comprehensive Cancer Center, and colleaguestested ginger powder dissolved in solution by putting it on ovariancancer cell cultures. It killed the ovarian cancer cells in twodifferent ways. First, through a self-destruction process calledapoptosis and second, through the process of autophagy in which cancercells digest themselves, the researchers told a meeting of the AmericanAssociation for Cancer Research. There is "some support" for an association between ovarian cancer andthe consumption of milk products, Swedish researchers report in theInternational Journal of Cancer. From 1991 through 1998 in our nation’s capital, African American womenrepresented two-thirds of all deaths from ovarian cancer, while farmore cases were diagnosed in Caucasian women.Ovarian cancer kills 16,000 out of the 22,000 U.S. women who arediagnosed with it every year, according to the American Cancer Society.Ginger has been shown to help control inflammation, which can contributeto the development of ovarian cancer cells. “In multiple ovarian cancer cell lines, we found that ginger-inducedcell death at a similar or better rate than the platinum-basedchemotherapy drugs typically used to treat ovarian cancer,” said Dr.Jennifer Rhode, who helped work on the study. Ginger Mint Dressing made with the Wholefood Farmacy’s Heart of Gold isa great way to add ginger to your daily meal plan.

America's Fall Since the 60's-What was the Cause?
The Wall Street Journal,Monday, March 15, 1993
Is out Culture declining? I have tried to quantify the answer to this question with the creation of the Index of Leading Cultural Indicators.
In the early 1960s, the Census Bureau began publishing the Index of Leading Economic Indicators. These 11 measurements, taken together, represent the best means we now have of interpreting current business developments and predicting future economic trends.
The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, a compilation of the Heritage Foundation and Empower America, attempts to bring a similar kind of data-based analysis to cultural issues. It is a statistical portrait (from 1960 to the present) of the moral, social and behavioral conditions of modern American society--matters that, in our time, often travel under the banner of ``values.'' Perhaps no one will be surprised to learn that, according to the index, America's cultural condition is far from healthy. What is shocking is just how precipitously American life has declined in the past 30 years, despite the enormous government effort to improve it.
Since 1960, the U.S. population has increased 41%; the gross domestic product has nearly tripled; and total social spending by all levels of government (measured in constant 1990 dollars) has risen from $143.73 billion to $787 billion--more than a fivefold increase. Inflation-adjusted spending on welfare has increased by 630%, spending on education by 225%.
But during the same 30-year period there has been a 560% increase in violent crime, a 419% increase in illegitimate births; a quadrupling in divorce rates; a tripling of the percentage of children living in single-parent homes; more than a 200% increase in the teenage suicide rate; and a drop of almost 80 points in SAT scores. Senate panel recommends abolishing FEMA
Updated: 11:06 p.m. ET April 26, 2006
WASHINGTON - The nation’s beleaguered disaster response agency should be abolished and rebuilt from scratch to avoid a repeat of multiple government failures exposed by Hurricane Katrina, a Senate inquiry has concluded.
Crippled by years of poor leadership and inadequate funding, the Federal Emergency Management Agency cannot be fixed, a bipartisan investigation says in recommendations to be released Thursday.
Taken together, the 86 proposed reforms suggest the United States is still woefully unprepared for a disaster such as Katrina with the start of the hurricane season a little more than month away.
“The United States was, and is, ill-prepared to respond to a catastrophic event of the magnitude of Hurricane Katrina,” the recommendations warn. “Catastrophic events are, by their nature, difficult to imagine and to adequately plan for, and the existing plans and training proved inadequate in Katrina.”
The recommendations, obtained Wednesday by The Associated Press, are the product of a seven-month investigation to be detailed in a Senate report to released next week. It follows similar inquiries by the House and White House and comes in an election year in which Democrats have seized on Katrina to attack the Bush administration.
Bush to visit region againPresident Bush will visit Louisiana and Mississippi — which bore the brunt of Katrina’s wrath — on Thursday.
The inquiry urges yet another overhaul of the embattled Homeland Security Department — FEMA’s parent agency — which was created three years ago and already has undergone major restructuring of duties and responsibilities.
It proposes creating a new agency, called the National Preparedness and Response Authority, that would plan and carry out relief missions for domestic disasters. Unlike now, the authority would have a direct line of communication with the president during major crises, and any dramatic cuts to its budget or staffing levels would have to be approved by Congress.
It would also oversee efforts to protect critical infrastructure such as buildings, roads and power systems, as well as Homeland Security’s medical officer. But the inquiry calls for keeping the agency within Homeland Security, warning that making it an independent office would cut it off from resources the larger department could provide.
The proposal drew disdain from the Homeland Security Department and its critics, both sides questioning the need for another bureaucratic shuffling that they said wouldn’t accomplish much.
“It’s time to stop playing around with the organizational charts and to start focusing on government, at all levels, that are preparing for this storm season,” said Homeland Security spokesman Russ Knocke.
Former FEMA director Michael Brown said the new agency would basically have the same mission as FEMA had a year ago, before its disaster planning responsibilities were taken away.
‘Beyond repair’“It sounds like they’re just re-creating the wheel and making it look like they’re calling for change,” Brown said. “If indeed that’s all they’re doing, they owe more than that to the American public.”
But Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, who led the inquiry, said the new agency would be “better equipped with the tools to prepare for and respond to a disaster.”
Describing FEMA as a “shambles and beyond repair,” Collins said the overall report “will help ensure that we do not have a repeat of the failures following Hurricane Katrina.”
Many of the rest of the recommendations were far less dramatic, ranging from creating a Homeland Security Academy to better trained relief staff, to encouraging people and state and local governments to plan for evacuating and sheltering pets during a disaster.
Most of them offered common-sense reforms, like better coordination among all levels of government, providing reliable communications equipment to allow emergency responders to talk to each other and ensuring urban evacuation plans are up to date and adequate.
Concluding that FEMA was seriously underfunded, Senate investigators called for more money for disaster planning and response at all levels of government. They did not specify, however, how much money was needed and skirted around whether the federal government should be providing all the funding.
The recommendations also called for clarifying responsibilities for levee maintenance — highlighting the structural weaknesses of the New Orleans flood walls against Katrina. They also urged better contracting procedures to avoid waste or fraud in the rush to get aid to disaster victims.
“There is no federal dollar that is spent on disaster relief and recovery for which the government is not accountable to taxpayers,” the recommendations said.

China Looks Toward Africa
China stirs up and causes jitters globally-Kenya Times Newspaper-->BY WYCLIFFE ASALWACHINA is increasingly targeting its economic and cultural ‘eye’ to the ground in Africa and Kenya is one of its interest zones on the continent. In recent years, Beijing has been focusing on building ties with Africa through boosting mutual economic and strategic interests, a fact that has threatened Western influence in the continent. The Chinese balancing act is yet to be fully grasped but her determination is unmistakable. President Hu Jintao took his economic wand to Washington on April 18 and will also touch base with Morocco, Nigeria, Kenya and South Africa. HIV's new target: Black women
The story has bounced off the front pages of American newspapers and barely found a spot at the bottom of newscasts.
But the problem is no less serious and no less deadly. In reality, the HIV/AIDS crisis in America has found an anchor in Mississippi. Like the rest of the country, it's no longer out front, so people have gone about their lives without fear of the sexual consequencess.
The promiscuity, blind sexual trust and intravenous drug use that gave life to this incurable disease is just as prevalent today as when former NBA great Magic Johnson gave HIV/AIDS a recognizable face.
Jarring, isn't it? Jarring that in 2006 this health crisis still looms even though attention to it is relegated to National AIDS Week or when someone pens a new book. See Full Article:

Ahk Yiore On The Move!!!
ST JOHN, USVI: The Minister of State of the Republic of Ghana, in West Africa, has extended an official invitation to Caribbean residents of the US Virgin islands to participate in a formal healing ceremony to be held in that country. US Virgin Islanders will also have the privilege of celebrating the opening of the Virgin Islands Exhibition.
Shelley Moorhead, President of the African-Caribbean Reparations and Resettlement Alliance (ACRRA) issued the details of the scheduled July 28 and 29, 2006 events, in a March 30 press release to Caribbean Net News.
Minister of State, J.O. Obetsebi-Lamptey, in a letter dated March, 2, 2005, extended the invitation to Lieutenant Governor Vargrave Richards.
The letter states the purpose of the seven hour spiritual healing ceremony which will take place on July 29 is to "lay the ancestral spirits to rest by bringing together traditional African chiefs with the leaders from the US Virgin Islands during which we will seek to reconcile and reunite kith and kin abroad with their brothers and sisters here on the homeland."
Moorhead has also been asked by the Government of Ghana to serve in an official capacity for the "Joseph Project" and matters concerning our renewed cultural, historical, and economic ties to the region.
Ghana President Kufuor's sentiments regarding the ancestors of present day Virgin Islanders who were kidnapped from their homeland and sold in to slavery were expressed in the letter.
The Minister of State said Kufuor was, "moved to learn of more than 200,000 African men, women, and children imprisoned in Ghana and loaded onto ships bound for the Danish West Indies," and, "It has been unsettling to learn that nearly half of them died on the journey across the Atlantic."
The President expressed great pride in the knowledge of the leaders of 1733 St. John Revolt (which predated the Haitian Revolution) and said those leaders were of the Akwamu Tribe, which can be traced to Volta Lake "here in Ghana."
Minister of State Obetsebi-Lamtey said the government of Ghana is excited about, "the wealth of documentation in the Virgin Islands which shows exactly how many Africans were picked up in Ghana during the slave trade, where they were taken, and what ships they were transported on," and, "These are records which could help so many of today's Ghanaians find family members in the Virgin Islands and around the world and fill yet another gap in our fragmented history."
The letter goes on to mention "the many programs Ghana has created for Africans in the Diaspora." These include, land ownership, developments projects, tax deductions for business owners and entrepeneurs, visa-free entry, and dual-citizenship opportunities among others.
The intent is to reconnect African descendents to the continent through culture, spiritual restoration, education, and economics.
Moorhead told Caribbean Net News that the work of his organization, ACRRA is on going, and that meetings are being held with "various community groups and organizations through out the Virgin Islands."
He was invited to represent the group at an international gathering in Israel this past December.

Dr. Baruch Speaks in Cleveland
Laugh yourself into good health or be charmed into it by L.E.N. (KNN Writer) Last Sunday, Doctor Baruch, gave an inspiring and informative seminar entitled, “Eat The Cure”. In 2004 Dr. Baruch received a Naturopathic degree from The School of the Prophets. In a comical and casual tone, Dr. Baruch imparted heavy hitting health information. But, before he did he asked us to answer a question. How do you put a giraffe in the refrigerator? Of course the correct answer came from a child. You simply open the door and put the giraffe in! Dr. Baruch didn’t ask what kind of refrigerator. There was a lesson in that. All too often, we think the key to good health is something complicated. The key to good health is actually fairly simple and fun. Although his seminar was entertaining, the health statistics are no laughing matter.Dr. Baruch instructed that we repeat this affirmation to ourselves, “I love myself and I work daily to be healthy!” This affirmation is to be repeated before we eat or do anything. It’s not just what we eat that makes us unhealthy, but what we do. So if thinking seriously about what we are doing or eating before we actually take part, then we won’t make half the bad decisions that we make on a daily basis. Bad decisions lead to stress and stress is a major cause of illness.
Some of the alarming health facts that Dr. Baruch shared:
2 million people will die from consumerism controlled by the FDA
1.3 million people will diagnosed with cancer
9 million children are seriously overweight
1 million people will develop diabetes
1200 people will die from unnecessary surgeries
The list above is the short list. What makes this even more of a concern is the fact that cancer, diabetes and obesity are all preventable illnesses. More importantly, Dr. Baruch revealed that we can cure ourselves of every ailment known to man. More people are sick than ever before and this is a result of us destroying our immune system through this consumer culture. We live a sedentary lifestyle, we have a poor diet and we are under stress. We are naturally vegetarians, yet meat has become a part of all three meals per day. This was not always the case. Eating meat as a part of every meal is actually a response to commercialism. Dr. Baruch shared that our diet has been shaped through human sociology. He also went on to state that, “Emotional energy is what people consume when they eat animals. We are eating the last emotion the animal felt before death. Eating chicken, one consumes the mind of a chicken. The mind is throughout the entire body.”
The truth is that most of us will not stop what is killing us because we have low self worth. The body is the temple. The temple cannot be preserved by introducing things that will not sustain it.
Where did we go wrong with our health? Dr Baruch made it very clear.
Eating a poor diet
Not getting enough sleep
Not drinking enough water (When we feel thirsty, that is actually the last indicator of dehydration.)
Not eating enough raw fruits and vegetables which give us enzymes
Eating meat (Meat takes away from the body because enzymes have to come from the body in order to break it down.)
Having too much stress in our life, stress actually affects our organs
Please take note that it is not in the best interest of the food, health or the pharmaceutical industry for you to be healthy. The health industry will tell you to drink cow’s milk for strong bones and teeth; however this is the food item with the most bacteria in it. The responsibility of the food industry has become to break down the immune system of its consumers. The food we eat is filled with preservatives which are toxic. When toxins build up in fatty tissue, the body produces more fatty tissue. We then go to the doctor after consuming all this bad food. We expect them to heal us. Instead of treating the illness, doctor’s treat the symptoms. You might feel better, but you have not been healed. The pharmaceutical industry and the food industry are working together to get and keep people sick.
Dr. Baruch’s list of foods we should not eat:
Partially hydrogenated oil (This shuts down the body’s ability to break down fat.)
Artificially flavored foods
Artificially preserved foods
Processed foods with ingredients that cannot be pronounced
Processed white flour, sugar or rice
Meat or meat by-products
MSG
High fructose corn syrup
Dairy
Chicken
Seafood (Fish has toxic mercury and other toxic chemicals.)
Dr. Baruch’s to do list:
Take weight, divide it by two and drink that in ounces
Exercise three times a week
Take a multiple vitamin
Take a mineral supplement
Take a digestive enzyme
Consume more raw organic fruits and vegetables
Eat more green foods
Meditate daily for a minimum of 15 minutes
Cleanse and Detox
Fast once per week (allow your body to rest)
… and don’t forget your affirmation, “I love myself and I work daily to keep myself healthy!”

Total solar eclipse streaks across Earth
Thousands exult in moon’s shadow from Brazil to Mongolia (MSN.COM News) "God is great, this shows the greatness of God," Nana Appah exclaimed as she joined the crowds on Ghana's Cape Coast beach. "This shows the greatness of nature. It is very, very beautiful. I’ve never experienced anything like this before." Cape Coast was one of the first spots on the African continent to fall under the spell of totality, which drew tourists to Libya, Egypt and Turkey as well. The air cooled and an eerie half-light descended over the ancient slave fort at Cape Coast, west of Ghana’s capital Accra, as the moon obscured the sun for approximately three minutes. Cries of “Hallelujah” and “Praise the Lord” rang out as watchers shouted and clapped in excitement, sharing protective glasses. Drivers hooted their horns. Shanah Tovah! Happy New Year!
According to the Hebrew Calendar we are in the month of Aviv (the first month), which literally translates to Spring. Aviv or Spring, marks the beginning of the true new year. Spring is a time or renewal. According to Webster’s dictionary, not only is Spring a source of supply, Spring is also an ultimate source of action or motion. This is the true new year, when we spring into action, cleaning our homes, reorganizing our homes and our lives and watching the rebirth of nature all around us. We are all familiar with the popular term Spring Cleaning. This is the time to take out the old in order to make room for what is new. Taking our cues from nature, this is time for us to reemerge. This season marks the beginning of the year; certainly makes more sense, doesn’t it?
The definition of Spring also states: the act or instance of leaping up or forward. This is the time to get up, set our plans into motion and move forward. Remember all those resolutions you made back in January? Wonder why none of those promises could be kept? It wasn’t time yet. Don’t be down on yourself. Spring into the new year by setting new goals. As the cyclical nature of life renews itself again, you must renew yourself too. Participate in the seasonal change by tuning into your body. Throw out those old clothes, those old feelings, that old relationship. Throw away whatever is keeping you from renewing yourself. The sun is shining, the birds are chirping. All the natural elements are urging us to come out. This is a time of celebration. We have labored through the long winter, cold months and the winter blues. The true New Year beckons us to come outside, renew our friendships, renew our vows, and renew that which is meaningful and life giving. Try again with those resolutions for the real New Year. See how much easier it is to keep those personal promises when all of nature is in support!
We are natural beings who are nourished by this earth and must be in tune with the natural order. In this first month, the season of Spring, the true New Year, it is time for us to rise up from the earth. Open the windows and let the fresh air nourish fresh thinking. Go out into the sunlight, allow ourselves to be nourished and regain our glow. Let the rains of the season wash away last year’s residue. Sweep all the drama out the door. Let us start this new year by treating ourselves to all that nature and the spirit of the season have to offer. Two more words used in the definition of Spring are resilience and energy. These words bring about the essence of the New Year. We are resilient, here to celebrate another year. In order to be ready for what this New Year will bring, we must tap in to all positive sources of energy in order to revitalize and reenergize ourselves. The dormant nature of winter has allowed us much time to pray and meditate. The true New Year is time to make things manifest. Shanah Tovah! Happy New Year!

Hurricane Season is Coming
Threat of Major Hurricane Strike Grows for Northeast AccuWeather.com Warns That "Weather Disaster of Historic Proportions" Could Strike as Early as This Year (New York, NY - March 20, 2006)-The northeast U.S. coast could be the target of a major hurricane, perhaps as early as this season, according to research announced today by the AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center. "The Northeast is staring down the barrel of a gun," said Joe Bastardi, Chief Forecaster of the AccuWeather.com Hurricane Center. "The Northeast coast is long overdue for a powerful hurricane, and with the weather patterns and hydrology we're seeing in the oceans, the likelihood of a major hurricane making landfall in the Northeast is not a question of if but when." PRISONS ARE BIG BUSINESS
Over 1.8 million people are currently behind bars in the United States. This represents the highest per capita incarceration rate in the history of the world. In 1995 alone, 150 new U.S. prisons were built and filled. Like the military/industrial complex, the prison industrial complex is an interweaving of private business and government interests. Its twofold purpose is profit and social control. Its public rationale is the fight against crime. In reality, however, most of the "criminals" we lock up are poor people who commit nonviolent crimes out of economic need. Violence occurs in less than 14% of all reported crime, and injuries occur in just 3%. In California, the top three charges for those entering prison are: possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance for sale, and robbery. Violent crimes like murder, rape, manslaughter and kidnaping don't even make the top ten. PRISON LABOR -An American worker who once upon a time made $8/hour, loses his job when the company relocates to Thailand where workers are paid only $2/day. Unemployed, and alienated from a society indifferent to his needs, he becomes involved in the drug economy or some other outlawed means of survival. He is arrested, put in prison, and put to work. His new salary: 22 cents/hour.From worker, to unemployed, to criminal, to convict laborer, the cycle has come full circle. And the only victor is big business.

Corporate Takeover of Organic Foods
by Carole Resnick
A familiar brand name to organic shoppers is Hain. This company now owns many other organic brands, which continue to appear to be independent. Some examples include: Bearitos (chips), Bread Shop (granola), Celestial Seasonings (tea), Garden of Eatin', Health Valley, Imagine Foods (Rice Dream), Terra Chips, and Westbrae (canned vegetables, soy drinks, pastas, and more). And who owns Hain? The prime investors in the Hain Food Group are mutual funds and holding companies. Their principal stockholders are Phillip Morris (tobacco), Monsanto (genetically modified food), Citigroup (responsible for rainforest destruction), Exxon/Mobil, Wal-Mart, Entergy Nuclear, and Lockheed Martin (weapons manufacturer). In 9/99 the H.J. Heinz Co. acquired ownership of nearly 20% of Hain. And, no surprises here, Heinz is principally owned by the same mutual funds and principal stockholders as is Hain. Clisk here:

Mean Judeans Softball Team is Back
The Dimona Mean Judeans opened their 2006 Israel Softball Association season with an 8-2 win over Penticon. Dimona pitcher Yaron was too much for the Penticon bats. He struck out six, while allowing only two runs, both scored by Howie Hirsch and batted in by David Fleightman. All eight Dimona runs were brought in with two outs and against 17-year-old Penticon pitcher Golan Halley. Dimona's top five hitters did all the damage. Amihai (three runs batted in), Ben Hai and Akhazia (two RBIs) each went 2-for-3 and Yigal drove in two runs. Amihai made the defensive play of the game at shortstop, chasing down a lazy looper to make a football-style, over-theshoulder catch. Dimona women rout Beit Shemesh-The Dimona Lady Judeans beat the Beit Shemesh Fireballs 20-6 in the 2006 ISA women's league opener. New Dimona pitcher Dina kept the Beit Shemesh bats in check and walked none, backed by fine defense from Carmiah at shortstop. Vashti led the way at bat going 2-for-3 with a triple.

Sports Update!! Cavs Win!!
Oh what a relief! By Brian WindhorstBeacon Journal sportswriter
CLEVELAND: In the imagination, when LeBron James finally made his first game-winning shot it would be received with extreme jubilation. When the moment actually arrived, the overwhelming sentiment was relief. James picked up his fifth triple-double of the season with 37 points, 11 rebounds and 12 assists. Above and beyond the stats, though, he showed his expanding leadership and decision-making skills. It was the Cavs' (39-29) third consecutive win, stretched their lead to four games on the No. 4 playoff seed and reduced their magic number to clinch a playoff spot to just four.

Will You Be Ready?
Now, I’m just one person. And I’ve been closely studying economic, environmental, and energy issues for only a few years. And I’m no expert. Yet I’ve come to the conclusion – and I don’t want to be a “Chicken Little” here – that civilization as we have known it for the last century is doomed. Our wasteful manner of living – heck, the sheer size of our human population – is unsustainable. Everywhere you look you can see signs of strain on the Earth, from spreading pollution of the air, water, and land, to disappearance of life in the seas, to depletion of natural resources. Something’s got to give. Things simply cannot continue as they have.
If I can see this, I would guess the United States Government, what with its thousands of full time experts, probably can too. Now, if you are the government and your experts tell you that civilization as we know it is doomed, what do you do? Well, for starters, you do not tell your population of sheeple. That would precipitate panic and result in premature doom, which would consume the government along with everything else. Above all, government seeks to survive, so you would maintain the facade of normalcy for the benefit of your population while you use what time you have left to prepare, as quietly as possible, for the inescapable future.

When Science Fails
The most prominent frozen couple in France have thawed. Dr. Raymond Martinot and his wife, Monique Leroy, had been "slumbering" in a large refrigeration unit in the basement of their Loire chateau while their son fought in the French courts to keep their bodies there. But Remy Martinot said he discovered recently that a technical problem had caused the temperature in the refrigerator to rise to an unacceptable level, probably for several days, The Guardian reported. The younger Martinot had his parents cremated. Dr. Martinot planned the effort to gain immortality through cryogenics, first preserving his wife's body when she died of cancer in 1984. When he died of a stroke more than 20 years later, his son did the same for him. French authorities had said that cryogenic preservation is illegal under laws that require all bodies to be cremated, buried or donated to science.

How much sugar do you consume?
Sugar is the most common substance that we consume. It is the simply themost abused food in the American diet.Thirty years ago our parents were telling us that sugar rots our teeth, and today we know that’s the least of the problems. No substance that we consume so readily is as addictive as sugar. We’ve all heard of diabetes and hypoglycemia. They are two common and serious disorders that are linked directly to sugar consumption and sugar metabolism. The list of sugar-abused disorders is longer than that: acne, tooth decay, impaired memory, obesity, elevated cholesterol levels, blurred vision, gingivitis, cardiovascular disease, and a host of mental and emotional disorders. Also, a diet high in sugar and low in fiber and essential fats encourages the development of colon cancer.Sugar is the most consumed and the least understood food that we have. The average American’s diet is full of sugar-laden fast foods and convenience foods. Most people consume their own weight in sugar in one year. So the average woman who weighs between 125-150 pounds is consuming between 125-150 pounds of sugar or more each year. Sugar in its many hidden forms is present in almost every processed food.Authorities in the field of nutrition have differing opinions on many things, but when it comes to sugar all agree that we consume far too much than our metabolism can handle. And we continue to do it day in and day out, year after year. And since the introduction of artificial sweeteners, Americans have gained weight. These sweeteners have been shown to increase weight when given to animals; they have undesirable brain chemicals. But there is a natural, herbal sweetener you can use - stevia. It is one that not many people know about. It comes from the green, leafy plantstevia. It is said to regulate blood sugar levels, and herbalists consider it an anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and anti-fungal agent. It is so concentrated that only a couple drops of it are equal to several teaspoons of sugar with none of the devastating side effects of sugar, and it actually has benefits. So to keep your glucose (blood sugar) level low, keep these things in mind. Reduce the amount of processed foods in your diet. Make the majority of your foods whole foods like whole grains, nuts, fruits and vegetables. Consuming foods with high levels of magnesium and potassium will help lower blood sugar levels as well. Your waist measurement should be less than 35 inches, and exercising or walking 30 minutes a day, 4 times a week will significantly reduce high blood sugar risk. Wild Weather Hit U.S.
The National Weather Service said there were as many as 110 reported instances of tornadoes touching down over the weekend in Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Arkansas and Illinois. But the weather service said it could take two weeks to confirm those accounts.
Massive wildfires raced across the dry southern plains early Monday, burning more than half a million acres in Texas, leaving at least seven people dead and injuring at least seven more. The fires scorched more than 663,000 acres more than 1,000 square miles or about two-thirds the size of Rhode Island far eclipsing the deadly wildfires that prompted Gov. Rick Perry to declare a statewide drought disaster in January. The earlier blaze charred more than 455,000 acres, destroyed more than 340 homes and killed three people.

It's Just Not Black & White
Thursday, March 9, 2006; B01
A white family becomes black. A black family becomes white. What do they learn?
Fox's FX channel last night debuted "Black. White.," a "reality" TV series in which two families are transformed with makeup into the other race to see how the world responds. Family members apply for jobs, shop for cars and shoes, participate in focus groups on race, and coach each other on what not to do.
The white family (mom, teenage daughter, boyfriend) expresses naivete about what to expect. Should I talk "jive"? mom asks. Boyfriend Bruno says that black people are too sensitive, that his forays as a black man were filled with courteous whites.
The black family members (dad, mom, teenage son) assume they know whites already. Still, the father is surprised when he is hired as a bartender with no references and even though he says he is unemployed.
Washington Post reporters Robert E. Pierre and Brigid Schulte sat down with a black family in Mitchellville and a white family in Alexandria to watch. What do we learn?

Happiness and Good Health
Happiness is something that we all take for granted. It is something that everyone wants and so many people never achieve. Happiness however is directly related to good health. In his book Authentic Happiness, Dr. Seligman reports that there is direct evidence that positive emotion predicts better physical health and longevity. In scientific studies it has been clearly demonstrated that happier people are less likely to die and less likely to become disabled (up to 50% less likely for each). Happier people have better health habits, seek out and absorb more health risk information, have lower blood pressure, and stronger immune systems.
Sadness/depression is the opposite. It is well established that people who are depressed show increased use of mental health services and non-mental health services resulting in a four fold increase in healthcare costs compared to a non-depressed employee. Approximately 18.8 million Americans, or about 9.5 percent of the U.S. adult population, have a depressive disorder in a given year. Approximately 70% of depressed adults are employed. Based on these national statistics, a company can estimate the number of employees under its insurance plan that experience depression. In addition to the increased health care costs, depressed employees also have greater lost time from work and disability. Depression also magnifies the morbidity and healthcare costs of many physical illnesses including coronary heart disease, heart attacks, congestive heart failure, back pain, osteoporosis, diabetes, and some forms of cancer.
Vegetables and fruits aid weight loss
This is good news. Despite all the books, advertisements and commercial products touting low-carb diets, the majority of Americans are sticking with a tried-and-true method for safe, steady and long-lasting weight management. Instead of jumping to another promising quick-fix diet and unbalanced nutrition, Americans are choosing a common sense eating style that stresses vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans. This eating style can help us stay healthy and keep excess weight at bay.
Plant foods prove effective
Nutrition researchers have conducted studies that confirm the major role plant foods, like vegetables, fruits, whole grains and beans, play in managing weight.
These foods appear effective in helping weight management because of their low energy density. Since they are high in water and fiber and comparatively low in calories (energy), they give a feeling of fullness without the higher calories of foods higher in fat. At the same time, they provide an abundance of vitamins, minerals and phytochemicals that promote health and protect against chronic diseases, like cancer.
In one study, when people ate more vegetables and fruits in meals, they reduced their total calorie consumption by more than 400 calories per day. In another study, when overweight people were fed prepared meals much higher in vegetables and fruits and lower in fat than those they usually ate, they had significant weight loss.
The variety of plant foods makes it easy to eat a lot of them. There are so many different kinds, you'll never grow tired of trying new ones. They can be great tasting, too. You may never suspect that they are really good for you and your waist.

The Kingdom Of Yah Celebrates 40 Years of "The Vision"
This most historic event was the catalyst for the Great Exodus, and thus it is the singular event upon which all that has come forth rests.
Because of our Father’s obedience to the angel in the vision, we are back in our land, re-united with our people, Yah’s laws and instructions and enjoying life in His glorious Kingdom, moving into higher and higher realms. This is truly a time of great joy.
All missions are advised to commemorate this event in a manner both creative and fitting, so as to continue to engrave its significance on our minds and those of our children. Let us join together in this memorable season and express our eternal gratitude to the Holy One of Israel.
We also give thanks and praises to The Holy Father for the countless blessings and testimony that Yah Chai!!
"This year marks the 40th year of the coming of The Vision (February 20, 1966) which lasted all of approximately 45 uncertain seconds! – a work that even when it is told to you it is extremely hard to believe. Within that occurrence was all of this submerged. All of this has come out of 45 seconds and has given birth to eternity!
Truth has a permanent residence in our midst and will never be swept out into the streets again. Truth is moving from the back room up to front street. We have seen all that evil can do we are ready to tell you to step aside and watch the manifestations of Truth! Step aside, get back and watch us!
Our great wealth is the environment that we have created. Our abundance is peace and Truth! We have a Ministry of Abundance, another kind of wealth. Truth is moving from the byways and coming out front and forebear of her power. We have seen and experienced the great manifestations of awesome lies and liars. It is our turn now.
It is your turn now, you great heralders of Truth! The habitat has to have an abundance of peace and Truth. Peace in the family, everything being borne out of truth. I am talking about you… the builders. What an expectation! We should be so excited. No one can match our feelings on this planet. No one feels like we feel when we even see the lights when approaching the city of Dimona after we have been away. It is a feeling of abundance. You have to experience this to know what we feel when we walk around this sanctuary seeing each other, looking for each other and missing each other when you do not see them in a while. An abundance of joy, peace and happiness is where we are to be now."

Positive Effects of Green Tea
By Amy Norton Fri Feb 24, 10:35 AM ET Reuters
People who regularly drink green tea may have a lesser risk of mental decline as they grow older, researchers have found.
Their study, of more than 1,000 Japanese adults in their 70s and beyond, found that the more green tea men and women drank, the lower their odds of having cognitive impairment.
The findings build on evidence from lab experiments showing that certain compounds in green tea may protect brain cells from the damaging processes that mark conditions like Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.
But while those studies were carried out in animals and test tubes, the new research appears to be the first to find a lower risk of mental decline among green-tea drinkers, according to the study authors.
They speculate that the possible protective effects of green tea may help explain Japan's lower rate of dementia, particularly Alzheimer's disease, compared with Europe and North America.
Dr. Shinichi Kuriyama and colleagues at Tohoku University Graduate School of Medicine report the findings in the current issue of the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition.
The study included 1,003 adults age 70 and older who completed detailed questionnaires on their diets over the previous month, as well as their overall physical health and lifestyle habits. They also completed a standard test of cognitive functions such as memory, attention and language use.
The researchers found that older adults who drank two or more cups of green tea per day were about half as likely to show cognitive impairment as those who drank three cups or less each week. Men and women who averaged one cup per day fell somewhere in between.
The connection between green tea and mental function persisted when the researchers accounted for overall diet and factors such as smoking and exercise habits.
However, the findings cannot demonstrate a cause-and-effect relationship.
The study was observational, not a controlled experiment, and there may be something about green-tea drinkers that explains the link between the beverage and sharper mental function, Kuriyama told Reuters Health.
For example, healthier, more active individuals may simply drink more green tea -- which, in Japan, is often consumed in social settings.
"We think that the potential protective effects of green tea should be confirmed in further studies," Kuriyama said.
Given the high prevalence and heavy burden of dementia, the researchers conclude, any benefit of drinking green tea could have a "considerable" public health impact.

The Minister of Health, Major Courage Quashigah has called on the youth to use home grown ingenuities to promote increased productivity for the betterment of the people. He said the youth should stand up and be counted as agents of change in order to lead in the renewal of families, communities, the nation, and continent. Major Quashigah said this when he opened a two-day youth conference in Accra yesterday.
The conference, which is being organized by The Chosen First Fruit of the African Hebrew Israelite Community and the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), is on the theme, “Restoration of Love for our Continent, of Glory for our Culture, of Faith in our Vision, and of Confidence in our Ability”…The President of NUGS, Mr. Samuel Okudjeto Ablakwa, said the conference was aimed at sharing ideas with members of The Chosen First Fruit from Israel on their success story which had been widely acclaimed.

Laughter Activates the Immune System
We all know that a good laugh leaves us feeling great. That wonderful, euphoric, post-laugher feeling is a type of “positive stress” that produces healthy and positive emotions. After a good laugh, your immune system also seems to “turn it up a notch”.
Your body steps up production of natural killer cells that attack viral infected cells and some types of cancer and tumor cells.
Your body activates more cancer fighting T cells.
Your body increases the antibodies that fight upper respiratory tract insults and infections.
Your body produces more gamma interferon, an antiviral protein that “turns on” the various parts of your immune system.
Laughing is good exercise. It provides a workout for your diaphragm and increases your body's ability to use oxygen while it brings in positive emotions that can actually reduce pain. In a study published in the Journal of Holistic Nursing, patients were told “one-liners” after surgery and before painful medication was administered. Those exposed to humor perceived less pain when compared to the others. Imagine that… a medicine that’s free and that has no bad side effects. The pharmaceutical companies haven’t quite figured out, as yet, how to get those two qualities into a single pill, but in the meantime a good laugh will get you by.

Breaking News-Dimona Hebrew Kibbutz
Black Hebrews to set up kibbutz
The 1,500-member Shomrei Shalom in the jurisdiction of the Dimona municipality will one of the three largest municipal kibbutzim in Israel.
Guy Yamin 19 Feb 06 13:18
The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor has issued its first certificate for a kibbutz communal association for the Black Hebrew community, to be called Shomrei Shalom. The kibbutz will be built on a 70-dunam (17.5-acre) site allocated by the Ministry of Housing and Construction in the jurisdiction of the Dimona municipality. It will become one of the three largest municipal kibbutzim in Israel, with 1,500 members, all from the Black Hebrew community. The kibbutz will be open to any person, without restriction.
The registration process began when MK Avraham Poraz (Shinui) was minister of the interior, and after members of the Black Hebrew community began serving with the IDF.
Shomrei Shalom will be based on the Black Hebrew community's lifestyle and spiritual values. Members livelihoods will be based on the production and marketing of natural foods. The community is considering producing special foods for a number of companies.
